(2000) Coffee Grinders - Grindcore Brothers 2000

So this is an unusual post for this blog since the band is rooted in the Goregrind scene (being a spinn-off of Poland's famous Dead Infection). Nevertheless I felt like it qualified music-wise since, well, it's fucking brutal. So I hope you'll enjoy it!

5 classic Death Metal records bordering ultra brutality

Being a fan of BRUTAL Death Metal I've noticed a tendency to (subconsciously?) ignore certain classic, canonical Death Metal bands of the nineties. Let's face it: nineties Brutal Death Metal is Cannibal Corpse, Broken Hope, Cryptopsy, Suffocation, later on Dying Fetus, Deeds of Flesh, Krisiun, Mortician etc.
So who of you would name bands like Monstrosity or Gorguts when asked for the really heavy shit from back in the days?
Alright then, here are five records that are surprisingly heavy, if you have not checked them out yet, you might be in for a treat:

Nice demo from an obscure Dutch band. According to an internet myth it was recorded in 1994 but the booklet clearly states that it has in fact been recorded in 2002.

(1992) Disinter - Crematory Consecration

Disinter was a young duo from Ohio. On the band picture they rep Unleashed and Cannibal Corpse tees so you know what's up: raw, beefy guitars crawling through percussive riffs backed by heavy drums. Really nice stuff! For fans of Headrot, Scattered Remnants, Desolate, Immortal Suffering, Sarcophagy etc.

(2003) Dissenter - Contamination

Polish people seem to like their Death Metal as dark as possible. This band is certainly no exception. If my ears don't betray me, New York's mighty Immolation may have been a source of inspiration, at least for this record. Their previous record Apocalypse of the Damned didn't feature traces of Robert Vigna's geniously disharmonic riffing, yet being a very fine record in its own right.

After the demise of Regurgitation, Necrotic Disgorgement was kind of a follow-up band. It was the continuation of the musicians' agenda, thus the debut record under their new moniker featured all songs of Regurgitation's 2002 demo "Clitoraldectomy".

Every now and then I stumble upon leaked songs off of unreleased, shelved records. It's really frustrating, especially if the recordings seem fine and ready to be put on CD. The band's logo looks pretty ominous and can be considered a warning sign. But don't worry: apart from extreme Christian beliefs, this is your ol' trusty 90s TXDM. Another record that raises the question whether or not Christians might be heavier than thou (see Oblation and Disencumbrance as further examples).

Okay..."hate"...we got it. Behind the slightly immature record titles awaits a chaotic and brutal style of Deathgrind comparable to Alienation Mental or early Devourment (with Grind shrieks in this case). Plus the drums sound cristal clear and are tightly played.
