(1994) Rise - Life into Ever Black

Not Brutal Death Metal if you're very strict. Still this is highly energetic Death/Thrash from LA that sounds a little Florida to me, which is good!

(2002) Hemdale - Rad Jackson

I'd like to point your attention to this band because of their 1994 self-titled demo (which is included in this compilation). This band is generally categorized as Goregrind or Grindcore but on their demo they feature a defined Brutal Death Metal sound.

(1999) Odious Sanction - Psychotically Enraged

I remember this band mostly from bargain bins, but since their drummer's current band, the legendary Immolation (!!!) is releasing a new record right about now, I figured it was due to revisit this 1999 record once again. It's very percussive, the guitars delivering palm muted riff after palm muted riff. The drumming is top notch, too. The vocals are raspy shouts, kinda similar to Dim Mak. Regarding the fact that Osious Sanction stayed quite obscure I have a suspicion that it might be related to the vocals, because I felt that that turned many people off of Dim Mak. For me personally it's not a problem, so it's sad to see these bands remain stuck in the lower pits of the underground.

(1994) Crimson Thorn - Unearthed

And god was like: "Oh you really wanna do this Glen Benton?! Alright then, it's fuckin' on!" Sorry for this cheesy piece, but yeah, Deicide/Pyrexia influenced brutality here.

5 classic Death Metal records bordering ultra brutality

Being a fan of BRUTAL Death Metal I've noticed a tendency to (subconsciously?) ignore certain classic, canonical Death Metal bands of the nineties. Let's face it: nineties Brutal Death Metal is Cannibal Corpse, Broken Hope, Cryptopsy, Suffocation, later on Dying Fetus, Deeds of Flesh, Krisiun, Mortician etc.
So who of you would name bands like Monstrosity or Gorguts when asked for the really heavy shit from back in the days?
Alright then, here are five records that are surprisingly heavy, if you have not checked them out yet, you might be in for a treat:

(1992) Disinter - Crematory Consecration

Disinter was a young duo from Ohio. On the band picture they rep Unleashed and Cannibal Corpse tees so you know what's up: raw, beefy guitars crawling through percussive riffs backed by heavy drums. Really nice stuff! For fans of Headrot, Scattered Remnants, Desolate, Immortal Suffering, Sarcophagy etc.

(2015) Blasphemic Cruelty - Crucible of the Infernum

Did you grow up on Angelcorpse like I did? Then enjoy this!

(2003) Kretan - Christian Corpse Mutilation

Featuring that malt-liquor-sippin' dude of Sikfuk and the human toilet flush Mark Rawls.
Download

(2003) Carnivorous - Increments of Defecation

I absolutely love discovering bands like this! Top notch sound, they could have made it big had they stayed together. Featuring members of the mighty Odious Mortem and the equally mighty Severed Savior!

(2004) Necrotic Disgorgement - Suffocated in Shrinkwrap

After the demise of Regurgitation, Necrotic Disgorgement was kind of a follow-up band. It was the continuation of the musicians' agenda, thus the debut record under their new moniker featured all songs of Regurgitation's 2002 demo "Clitoraldectomy".

(2011) Obscured Secretions - Demo 2011

All-star project featuring Disgorge members (Diego Sanchez, Ed Talorda and Matti Way) as well as Jason Trecazzi (formerly playing in Regurgitation, Cranial Osteotomy, Necrotic Disgorgement and Heinous Killings). Need I say more?

(2005) Parasitic - Parasitic EP

This highly prolific line-up (Condemned and Pathology members, among others) did not release enough yet. Period. Release more you guys!
Download

(2008) Condemned - Promo 2008

In my opinion, this is Condemned in their purest form. For some reason I feel they didn't nail it this good on their latter records.

(2014) Genethliac - Genethliac EP

Nice stuff from Cali!

(2013) Cerebral Engorgement - Gastrointestinal Bleeding

Guitar tone...no more words needed. This record is pure fun!

(2012) Abhorration - Infatuation With the Accursed Enmity

Brutal Death youngsters at their best!
Download

(2015) Abhorrent - Intransigence

For some reason I never really was a fan of The Faceless, but their ex-drummer has some great bands going on, these days, for sure (also check out Absvrdist while you're at it)

(2004) Bane of Existence - Humanity's Splintered Salvation

American Brutal Death of the groovy variety. You know the drill!
Download

(2011) Parasitic Anomaly - Promo 2011

Obscure project delivering dark and futuristic brutality, similar to Jenovavirus but with lower vocals.
Download

(2002) Excommunion - Superion

Fine Death Metal with an oriental flavor. Reminiscent of Immolation, Sarpanitum or maybe Nile in terms of atmosphere.
